Volunteering in the RE Program

Volunteers

In a house which becomes a home,
one hands down and another takes up
the heritage of mind and heart,
laughter and tears, musings and deeds.
Love, like a carefully loaded ship,
crosses the gulf between the generations.

–Antoine de Saint Exupery

Most of our Religious Education teachers and assistants are volunteers. Parents and other adults who spend time with the children, either helping during Sunday classes or at special events, often find they gain more than they give. Volunteering on a RE team is also a good way of getting to know other congregants.

Guidance and training are available, and you can find details of the RE Operational Procedures in our Manual 2016-17. For additional information, check out Spirit Play Teacher Training Manual and the Spirit Jam Teacher Training Manual.

If you feel you have something to share with our children and youth, let us know. We have many opportunities for involvement, whether you just want to help with crafts once a year or get to know a child as a mentor. Your love and wisdom are always deeply appreciated.

If you are interested you can sign up online or speak with our Director of Religious Education, Sara Cloe
