LGBTQ Justice

You are welcome here.

Our denomination has ordained many LGBTQ persons as ministers over the years, who serve all across the country.

 Our goals include:

  • Promoting UUCV as a "Welcoming Congregation," a welcoming place to the local LGBTQ communities.

  • Educating our own congregation to enhance understanding and make us more welcoming.

  • Providing a safe, nurturing and friendly space for our LGBTQ friends, members and allies.

A new group, the L-Connection, meets monthly on the third Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. for a potluck in RE Main and kitchen. This is a Meet-Up Group of Lesbians from all walks of life, their families, friends and supporters. We offer social opportunities for our members to network and build a vital community (more info below). This fits with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver's policy of valuing diversity of sexuality and gender and is sponsored by the UUCV Welcoming Congregation. With no other LGBTQ Center in the area, we are pleased that UUCV is now our "home base" for the L-Connection's monthly potluck gatherings. We also gather weekly on Tuesday Mornings at 10 a.m. for coffee in a local restaurant.

L-Connection is a Vancouver, Washington based social Meetup of Lesbians, their families, friends and supporters. L-Connection offers opportunities for our members to network, create and share activities and interests in addition to promoting opportunities to serve and build our local community.

We have many scheduled activities currently occurring, such as monthly potlucks, weekly coffee, game nights, discussion groups, Friday happy hour, movies, kayaking, camping, or small groups to bake cookies or discuss relevant issues. Our annual gatherings include Spring Festival, Pride in the Park Dyke March, Annual Picnic and Recognition BBQ, and the Winter Holiday Party. We are open to hear your ideas of new functions we can embrace!

Everyone, please join our LGBTQ friends and have fun while welcoming and supporting this vital community. If you're interested in LGBTQ issues and events, contact
